You Me At Six are back, FINALLY!

It’s been over 2 years since we heard new material from You Me At Six. Their last album Cavalier Youth went down a storm and went to number ! But now they are back finally. The guys first started their comeback a few weeks ago with an hour long live stream revealing the words #NIGHTPEOPLE. Many fans were left frustrated as no explanation followed however, they started to release visual lyrics some days later. But fans still eagerly waited for new music.

But now we finally have Night People the first single from the album also called Night People. The song was aired on BBC radio 1 as Annie Mac’s hottest record in the world. Josh and Dan from the band joined Annie’s Show to reveal not only the song, but the release date for the album Night People which is 13th January 2017. They joked that maybe it might follow a number 1 spot like Cavalier youth which was also released back in January 2014. After the interview josh gave some kind words on the passing of Tom Searle from Architects who had just passed away after 3 years with battling cancer.

The song Night people has a very heavy and loud vibe similar to that of Royal Blood. It is very different to past music. The song is very catchy with some big guitar riffs in there. We also hear the lyrics they visually teased:

“It’s been a hell of a week
I couldn’t bring myself to sleep
On the move both of you
Raise a glass to tomorrow’s blues”

We are hit with a huge chorus with the lyrics:

“We are night people
Roaming the streets
Night people
Get what we need”

I’m so excited to hear this song live, i can see it being really huge. I have been a fan of the band since the release of Sinners Never Sleep. For me this song is completely different to anything they have released and shouldn’t really be compared to any of their work because it is that unique. I am super excited for what happens with the album and will certainly be reviewing it when it is released in January.
